We’re very excited to invite you to come out and see the new location for Simple Gifts Community Garden! We have a firm commitment from the landowner, the YMCA of the Triangle, that we can build a new garden on their vacant land on Tingen Road in Apex, just 5 minutes from our old location. We hope you will make it a priority to join us Saturday morning, March 4th at 10 am to see the land and hear about plans to rebuild. Bring a chair if you like and a friend/neighbor if you can. We’ll just be sharing news and plans on Saturday, but it’s a great time to get new folks excited about our new beginning. And we’re going to need lots of hands!
There are many details to handle in the next few weeks, but it won’t be long until we’re digging in the dirt together and feeding our hungry neighbors again. I can’t tell you how joyful that makes me! It’s been a very long and sometimes discouraging road, but we’re on our way now! I’m sure you will have lots of questions and we hope to have some answers and others we will find together.
The address for the meeting is 3111 Tingen Road, Apex, NC. Please be patient and wait until the 4th to go out there. We need to talk to the neighbors and tie up some loose ends. If the weather isn’t good, we’ll meet at the same day and time at Apex UMC in the old Fellowship Hall. The church address is 100 S. Hughes St. and the Fellowship Hall is along Hughes St. – it’s the only one-story red brick building on the campus.
