The very best way to support the garden is to join! Joining is simple and membership is just $20 per family, per year. While there aren’t “levels” of membership, each family makes individual decisions about how much time they can commit to to the garden with the realization that not all support is directly at the garden site. Some folks pick up compost from Lowes Foods, Panera and Western Wake Crisis Center in Apex. Others support by dropping by to weed. There are both master gardeners and gardeners who may never master basic gardening techniques. From the highest level of competence to the most basic level of commitment, anyone wearing close-toed shoes (i.e. sneakers) is welcome!
Want to create a community service outing for your employees, workmates, social group, or other organization? Then, call Anne (919-616-6659) to commit your group of 10 or more adults or adult led families to a community workday! (Membership not required, but waivers are required.)
Of course, financial contributions help us maintain the garden. There are always tools that need repair or replacement, water systems that need maintenance, and bills to pay. Some offer gifts in support of the garden or to aid the food that is grown for our partner food pantries. Others offer gifts in memory or honor of a special someone. Since the garden is a community outreach of Apex United Methodist Church, some companies will provide matching contributions for their employers.
